Robin comes from a long line of vocalists dating back to the 1940’s when her grandmother was the lead singer of a 9-piece band. Robin’s mother was also an accomplished vocalist and pianist. The natural talent was passed down to yet another generation, with Robin and her sister trading harmonies as children.
Robin’s first band Grand Junction performed weekly at Fort Clayton, Panama, South America, where she was stationed in the Army at 19. She continued to travel with the military and from there, ended up in San Diego. She attended San Diego State University and became the lead vocalist for Rock Ridge for a few years while living there.
Over the years, Robin has performed in a variety of shows, musical groups and the National Anthem for multiple SDSU college games. After moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1999, she performed and worked with several talented musicians, one included Dream Chemistry’s violinist Michael Mulryan. Michael and Robin have performed in trio with, classical guitarist and teacher, Michael Miller. Later, she joined Michael Mulryan in the Sustainabillies, where she met Steve Piper, who is a musician and sound engineer.
She has performed with Steve Piper ever since.
The Sustainabillies performed at the Merritt Center’s Annual Fundraiser for Returning Veterans, year after year. She found a calling in volunteering to help returning veterans at the Merritt Center with performances and becoming a Vet Mentor through the program. During this time, Robin picked up the Native American Flute and seems to have a natural talent to play. She also loves to play with any percussion instrument and making unusual sounds with them.
At yet another Merritt Center Fund Raiser, Robin met Neal Harris and later, Jimmy Caterine of Dream Chemistry and was impressed by their musicianship. Dream Chemistry asked Robin to join the group and she felt honored. She really enjoys the original sound and ‘feel’ of Dream Chemistry’s music and is thrilled to be part of the creative musical and songwriting team.
Robin is also a Mind, Body, Spirit Practitioner, Ordained Minister, and Reiki Master.
